10 YEARS OF POWERFUL WOMEN

POWERful Women was founded in 2014 by former Energy Minister Baroness Sandy Verma and former MP Laura Sandys, in response to a startling lack of women in senior roles in the UK energy sector.

At that time, women occupied only 9% of all board seats in UK energy companies and 5% of the executive director board roles.

OUR IMPACT

Since then, female representation on boards has more than trebled and women are now in 34% of leadership and 32% of middle management roles, heading towards our target of 40% by 2030.

Watch our story and the successes along the way:

For the last decade, POWERful Women has been championing women – challenging companies to set bold ambitions and take concrete actions, supporting them to learn and share good practice, and supporting and connecting women through mentoring, networking and career resources.
