Energy Day 4th November: Female Leadership: Energy for the Global Energy Transition

We were honoured to host an event on the UK Pavilion in partnership with BEIS and FCDO to explore how gender diversity and inclusion is central to a successful clean energy transition.

It was brilliant to be able to share the work of PfW with international delegates and to learn from others.

Huge thanks to our esteemed panel for their fascinating and entertaining insights and their powerful challenges to do better! From the competitive advantage of reducing testosterone in the board room to establishing alternatives to golf course networking.

There were also great recommendations for practical D&I action that organisations can take, like:

  • banning all-male shortlists and having diverse interview panels
  • establishing mentoring, coaching and healthy networks
  • collecting and monitoring diversity data
  • appointing people to the board with more diverse backgrounds and unusual, broader career paths
